Those we love, don’t go away, they walk beside us, every day. Unseen, unheard, but always here, still loved, still missed, still very dear …

Our beloved Cinders, our faithful friend,
and your love you shared till the very end.
For almost 13 years our family was blessed,
now it’s time for you to rest.
You still live on in the hearts and minds,
of the loving family you left behind.
Cinders 1.9.1999 to 1.8.2012
Kindly donated to the Cavalier Collection Scheme and found to be clear of SM.
I fell in love with Gizzy the moment I saw her. We adopted her and Alfie from the Cavalier Rescue. It wasn’t long before we knew something wasn’t right and took her to be MRI’d by Clare.
It broke my heart when she was diagnosed as severe for SM/CM, epilepsy and grade 5 heart murmur.
This picture shows her a couple of weeks of being on her meds and the difference was amazing, Just to see her pain free and happy. She was a flower-girl at a charity doggy wedding xxxx
My beloved Poppy
You came to live with us when you were 3 and a half years old, settling in the day you arrived.
We loved you, we cared for you and you became my soul mate, becoming a big, and forever lasting member of our family. We used to laugh at the way you kept Freya “in order”. acting as her bossy mum.
We have recently had to suffer a temporary parting, and we miss you terribly.
Play with the other animals at Rainbow Bridge.
Forever in our hearts Poppy, till we meet again.
16th April 1998 to 3rd Nov 2012
Benji no longer greets me,
As I walk through the door.
He’s not there to make me smile,
To make me laugh anymore.
Life seems quiet without him.
He was far more than a pet.
He was a family member, a friend,
A loving soul I’ll never forget.
It will take time to heal
For the silence to go away.
I still listen for him
And miss him every day
He was such a great companion,
Constant, loyal & true.
Benji, my heart will always wear
The paw prints left by you.
In memory of dear little Lucy, an exceptionally brave and deeply loved little companion, at peace now after years of pain courageously borne. We love you so much and miss you dearly.
Lucy was born on 24th August 2001 and died on 15th December 2012.
Her organs were donated to the Cavalier Collection Scheme
If it be I grow frail and weak,
And pain should wake me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle can’t be won…
We’ve had so many happy years,
What is to come will hold no fears,
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering, I’ve been saved.
Do not grieve that it should be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do
We’ve been so close, we two, these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.
Tommy gave tissue samples to the Cavalier Collection Scheme
Gucci: 22.03.1997 – 11.04.2013
A wonderful 16 year old girl who donated her tissue for research
Ellie was a cavoodle and a happy little girl who loved to run on the beach and enjoyed chasing the birds.
Ellie was diagnosed with Syringomyelia in 2011 and had decompression surgery. In May 2013 we discovered a lump, she was later diagnosed with Thyroid disease but due to post op complications we made the heart breaking decision to have her PTS. She only had 6 short years but they were lovely years and we enjoyed every day with her. She was loving and everybody loved her. Goodnight Ellie bear until Mummy and Daddy see you in heaven xxx
It is with great sadness that I write this little tribute to my dear Maisie. She passed away yesterday very suddenly and I am feeling her loss deeply.
She was the dearest little Cavalier I have ever had and won two cups in our dog club over the years as the dog that represented the best in our doggie friends. She has the kindest, sweetest nature of any dog I have ever had the joy of living with.
Maisie, you leave a deep hole in our family that can never be filled. Petal sends you licks and kisses and I send you a big hug. Jan
Dolly was owned by Mr & Mrs Ellis for the first 12 years of her life.
Unfortunately early in 2014 Mrs Ellis died & Mr Ellis was unable to care for her.
I adopted a scared, timid, girl whose whole life had been taken away from her. Slowly over time a feisty, fun loving little minx emerged. Dolly adored her lead & loved going for a walk, her favourite was running along
the beach her ears flapping in the wind.
Dolly suffered from MVD and then developed a mammary tumour. She was reunited with Mrs Ellis on 8th September 2014.
RIP sweetheart. X
Clover came to live with me when she was almost two. From the first day until the last day we were together, she was my devoted companion and shadow. Wherever I went, Clover went. A quiet, calm and sweet natured girl, Clover and I were inseparable and always in tune with each other.
Her loving soulful eyes could melt my heart. She successfully battled with cancer for over a year thanks to some homoeopathic remedies and the quick thinking actions of my vet. She was born on 7th November 1997 but as with many Cavaliers she eventually succumbed to MVD and was put to sleep on the 9th June 2010 after spending a long time on heart medication and undergoing procedures to drain excess fluid from her abdomen when necessary. She was just twelve years old when we parted. Nobody can ever take her place. I think about you my darling Clover every single day and miss you more than I can say. But I know we will be reunited one day as you already are with Darcy and Amy. God bless you darling.
Aled, 6.6.2007 – 5.2.2015
We had Aled from a rescue aged 18 months until he died of MVD aged 7 years and 7 months on 5 February 2015. He arrived from a puppy farm knowing nothing except the boredom of a kennel; with the help of his older brother Oliver he blossomed into a happy, affectionate Cavalier with a wicked grin! I wish he could have enjoyed life for longer than a brief 6 years, but am so grateful to have known and loved him.
Oliver, 13.6.2001 – 10.2.2015
Oliver was everything a Cavalier should be: beautiful, friendly, intelligent, ready for anything, a perfect companion in all sorts of activities, including being a PAT visitor for 5 years and sharing camping holidays at the beach in Northumberland and Norfolk. In his old age he was deaf and had progressive hind leg paralysis but still enjoyed life until the day he could no longer go for walks and was finding life a burden. With mild CM/SM, he helped in several RVC trials, and after his death gave tissue samples to a wide range of research.
Holly was our first dog and my best friend. She was funny bossy & ruled the roost she let Tia get away with murder but when she stamped her paw Tia knew. She helped me threw tough times with my own Health and my parents she always sensed bad days . She had Syringmyolia and MVD epilepsy liver damage (epiphen )she was so brave
She broke the treat cupboard door by banging on it to let us know she wanted a treat she was generally a well behaved pup but she had mischievous side and the love of her life was her IKEA ferret. The joy she bought to our home and family was unbelievable . My mum said no Dog was coming in her house shed not even
stroked a dog with in a few weeks it was love
Goodbye my princess our baby our child with fur we love you forever and
ever xxxxxxxxx
I had waited so long for Hannah, I did not know who or how she would come into my life, but I knew she would come. When she did, she turned darkness
to light, she filled my heart and soul with love, comfort and warmth. I loved Hannah as no other, she blessed me with her life and we were never
parted for a moment. As a pheonix from the ashes, Hannah brought to my life a bright and beautiful bird. Hannah left my world as she came into it, in my arms and full of love. I am lost without her, I know she waits for me, the only thing that keeps me going is being assured of being with her together forever. Hannah left me all too quickly. Hannah is the best of my life.
Rosie was rescued in March 2012 and settled into our home like she had always been there. It was found that she had severe Syringomyelia but she led a happy but sedate life. She also had MVD – in December 2015 we finally had to let her go. She went peacefully held and loved to the very end. Now running free, without pain with her sisters Lady Jane and Cinders. I am so proud that during her short time with us she took part in several research projects relating to SM and MVD so has played a part in the attempt to have a healthier future for cavaliers. I could not have asked for anything more.
Minnie 18/05/07 – 04/04/17
Kennel Club name Narayden Golden Dixie
The day our Minnie went to sleep was the day our hearts broke in two. She loved to be loved and gave endless cuddles to prove it.
Minnie came into our lives over nine years ago, after we suffered the loss of our beautiful puppy Luella. She soon showed us her adventurous and loving character, bonding not only with us but her new sister Boo. She was
a strong spirit and there is not many who would not melt in her big brown
eyes.
It’s difficult not hearing her barks when the post arrives or hearing her
paws patter across the floor when you sit for a meal. But most difficult
of all, is not seeing her little body snuggled next to Boo in the morning,
her eager face excited for a stroke and a cuddle.
No words could truly express the overwhelming pain we feel for the loss of
our beautiful Minnie. She has left paw prints on our hearts and treasured
memories we shall hold on to forever.
